A new startup finance app that wanted a smooth onboarding experience, as well as being able to set savings goals, and manage their budgets.

Who is Budgie?

A new, hassle-free way to maximise money. Budgie understood the difficulty involved in consistently managing finances effectively, even using the best tools.

Challenge

This was a new start-up app, the challenge was to create the onboarding experience, giving the ability to manage finances, establish current needs, goals and form a personalised roadmap.

Discovery

I created competitor analysis & research charts. Interviewed 12 people to get an understanding of their needs, thoughts and frustrations when it came to budgeting and managing their finances.

I am very risk-adverse, I tend to just hoard money essentially for all the rainy days.

Problem Statements

Bella wanted to consolidate all her banking and savings accounts into a financial management app. To allow her to keep her data secure while providing her with the freedom and insights to make the most of her money.

When reviewing her monthly budget and spending, Bella sought personal insights and recommendations to help her effectively adjust her budget and identify areas of overspending.

Low Fidelity Prototype

After initial sketches I moved to low fidelity prototype in Figma.

User Testing

The journeys were tested with the initial 12 people interviewed, looking for pain points that the users came across, any suggestions they could make about the flow or options available.
